Qatar, Turkey, and Russia issue joint statement on the Syrian crisis

Qatar’s, Turkey’s and Russia’s Ministers of Foreign Affairs held their first consultative meeting to discuss the Syrian crisis. The meeting, which was hosted by Doha, looked into ways to join efforts, intending to find a lasting political solution to the situation. The Ministers issued a joint statement, according to Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Ministers; Emphasized their commitment to preserving the sovereignty, independence, unity and territorial integrity of the Syrian Arab Republic in accordance with the UN Charter. Expressed their conviction that there is no military solution to the Syrian conflict, and reaffirming their commitment to advancing a political process facilitated by the United Nations to support the Syrian parties to reach a political solution in accordance with UN Security Council Resolution 2254 and Geneva Communique of 2012.

HH the Amir stresses Qatar s firm support for Saudi Arabia

Since the end of the blockade in January this year, following the signing of the historic Al-Ula Declaration, Qatar and the former blockading nations have been making efforts to strengthen relations for the security, stability, and unity of the region. Saudi Arabia was the first to open its airspace, land, and sea borders with Qatar, following which the United Arab Emirates, Egypt and Bahrain opened their borders to the Gulf State. As Qatar and Saudi Arabia work toward enhancing ties, it was earlier announced by the latter’s  Recently, Yesterday, in a phone call with HRH Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani stressed Qatar s firm support to the Kingdom.

Qatar s Ambassador to Mexico lauds QFFD s efforts to support vulnerable communities

Ever since its establishment Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD) has been playing an instrumental role in supporting Qatar s humanitarian endeavors. In September last year, under HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani’s guidance, QFFD inked a three-year contribution agreement with the Global Fund. The $50 million deal seeks to end the epidemics of Aids, tuberculosis and malaria by 2030 thereby contributing to the United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goal 3: Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages. QFFD has made great efforts to alleviate the suffering of vulnerable communities with the vision of making their lives better.
