New study plan launched for QU’s Honors Programme

Doha: Qatar University (QU) has launched a new study plan for the Spring 2021 Honors Programme in response to global challenges and the realization of excellence and innovation values. The programme was established in 2009 and became a member of the National Collegiate Honors Council (NCHC) in the US, rendering QU as the only Arab university to gain membership.
The programme aims to attract highly motivated and academically curious students looking to learn, innovate and master contemporary skills. It also seeks to provide a distinct qualitative curriculum following the principles of international honor programs curricula.

QCDC concludes 10th edition of Career Advisor Training Course

Doha: Qatar Career Development Center (QCDC), a member of Qatar Foundation (QF), has concluded the 10th edition of its Career Advisor Training Course (CATC), which was delivered in both Arabic and English.
CATC brought together individuals interested in career advising, from different specializations and professional backgrounds, from public and private bodies, as well as educational institutions in Qatar and further afield.
Exclusively offered by QCDC in Qatar and the GCC region, the pioneering program focuses on nine key areas; helping skills, career development and choice theory, assessment and career planning, the role of information in career planning, ethical guidelines, working in groups, using technology, employability skills, and program planning and implementation.

Doha: The US Embassy in Qatar, together with the Qatar’s Ministry of Education and Higher Education and the Qatar Career Development Center (QCDC) a member of Qatar Foundation held the virtual sixth Annual Career Counselor Training Program recently. Over 124 academic counsellors from more than 40 private schools and 60 public schools participated in the training.
Local expert school counsellors, including Annemiek Bailey, International School London-Qatar; Lisa Abidaoud, Qatar Academy for Science and Technology; and Dr. Aaron Jones, American School of Doha, led sessions in English for the private schools.
