Doha: Qatar National Library (QNL) has been selected to host the 17th International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA) Interlending and Document Supply (ILDS) Conference in October 2021. The successful bid is the result of close cooperation with Qatar National Tourism Council, which provided support and commitment in promoting this event.
The ILDS conference will bring international delegates from around the world, to the Library to discuss innovative practices, strategies, and experiences in the field of interlending and document supply. The ILDS service is an integral component of the global information network, which consists of national, academic, public, private, and scientific libraries, provides users with access to print and digital collections in diverse languages and formats from around the world.
(17 Dec 2020) Air Canada has launched thrice weekly flights between Toronto and Doha, Qatar.
The airline will operate the route with Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft offering 298 seats in a three-class configuration.
The inaugural flight on Tuesday was the first ever Air Canada flight to Doha and signifies the further strengthening of relations between Canada and the State of Qatar.
Qatar Airways and Air Canada recently signed a codeshare agreement applicable for travel between Doha and Toronto. The agreement will enable both airline’s passengers to enjoy seamless, one stop connections to and from Toronto via Hamad International Airport and onwards to more than 75 destinations in
