Hamad International expansion will offer some ‘world firsts’ for retail
The completed project will increase the airport’s capacity to more than 60 million passengers by 2022
The expansion project at
Hamad International Airport will feature “world firsts” in its retail and F&B offer.
The expansion plans will include the creation of 11,720sqm of retail and F&B space, along with an 10,000sqm indoor tropical garden and a 268sqm water feature.
In a post on LinkedIn,
Qatar Duty Free Vice President Operations Thabet Musleh said: “We will be ready with an unbelievable retail and F&B offer to continue to offer something for everyone as well as some world firsts in an airport.”
Qatar Airways Introduces Honeywell’s Latest Ultraviolet Cabin Disinfection Technology On Board 20 April 2021
Qatar Airways further advances its hygiene measures on board by operating Honeywell’s Ultraviolet (UV) Cabin System version 2.0.
The latest version of the Honeywell UV Cabin System that is owned and operated by Qatar Aviation Services (QAS), has been introduced to add flexibility, improve reliability, mobility and ease of use compared to its predecessor, with extended UV wings that treat both narrow and wide areas on board, reducing the overall disinfection time. This version also includes a hand wand that disinfects areas like the cockpit and other smaller spaces and is non-motorised leading to less battery consumption. In clinical tests, UV light has been shown to be capable of inactivating various viruses and bacteria when properly applied.
The offer is for travel between May 14 and September 30, 2021.
Qatar Airways Holidays’ three-night all-inclusive package to the Maldives with the option to choose between two luxury hotels, Diamonds Thudufushi and Sandies Bathala with prices starting from QAR 5,766, which includes return seaplane transfer to the resorts.
