Dr Stephen Karanja said it was unnecessary to vaccinate Kenyans against Covid-19.
Instead, he argued for steam inhalation and a cocktail of drugs, including hydroxychloroquine and zinc.
He also spread conspiracy theories, involving Bill Gates and population control.
Dr Karanja died on Thursday in the high dependency unit of a private hospital in the capital Nairobi.
More than 800,000 Kenyans have now been vaccinated, with no severe side effects being reported.
Before his death, Dr Karanja was the chair of the Catholic Doctors Association â who described him âas a true medical soldierâ.

A KENYAN doctor who became a high-profile anti-vaccine campaigner has died after contracting Covid-19, it was confirmed today.
Dr Stephen Karanja died on Thursday in the high-dependency unit of a private hospital in the capital Nairobi.
He was a vocal conspiracy theorist, helping to spread myths involving Microsoft founder Bill Gates and the coronavirus being part of a bid to cull the world’s population.
Dr Karanja insisted that Kenyans did not need to be vaccinated against the disease. He said that people could be cured through steam inhalation and a mixture of drugs and minerals including the antimalarial hydroxychloroquine and zinc.

Kenya Catholic Doctors Association chairman Dr Stephen Karanja (pictured), who spread misleading information on the coronavirus vaccine, has died of Covid-19.
Dr Karanja passed away today at the Mater Hospital where he was admitted to the High Dependency Unit.

“He is not young and has underlying health problems yet he never left the frontline and has diligently continued taking care of his patients, including relatives with Covid-19, like a true medical soldier,” the message read.
