A nine-minute video that has thousands of shares on Facebook and other social media mimics an emergency broadcast alert while peddling false claims regarding the transfer of the presidency. The video falsely suggests that President Donald Trump won the 2020 election and will be staying in office. In fact, former Vice President Joe Biden won the election and is slated to be inaugurated on Wednesday. It also peddles the baseless QAnon conspiracy theory that Trump is battling political enemies who are part of a pedophile and child sex trafficking ring, and suggests he will prevail to stay in power. The video claims the information comes from a Zoom conference with retired colonels, generals and L. Lin Wood Jr. Wood is an attorney who has been known to spread misinformation.

Military-Linked Chinese Company Blacklisted by US Has Major Operations in Canada
News Analysis
The U.S. Department of Defence on Dec. 3 blacklisted a Chinese state-owned oil company that has a heavy presence across Canada for being associated with the communist regime’s military. The Pentagon encourages parties to consider the U.S. position in their dealings with such companies, a spokesperson told The Epoch Times.
China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) is China’s largest offshore producer of oil and gas and was established as the state-owned offshore petroleum company of China in 1982.
Canadian authorities have not made a public statement in response to the U.S. move against CNOOC. However, they have indicated that safeguards are in place to prevent any sizable takeover by a foreign state-owned enterprise (SOE) from ever happening again.

Mission system software and hardware development, as well as integration, for the proposed Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) Gripen E would be done at the Gripen Centre.
The Aerospace Research & Development Centre would focus on a variety of aerospace technologies, including automation, artificial intelligence and “greening” technologies. That work may or may not be directly related to the Gripen E. Rather, the research and development would focus on next-generation aerospace technologies more generally.
O’Toole Accuses Government of ‘Kowtowing’ to Beijing, Putting Canada at Risk
Conservative Leader Erin O’Toole said the federal government’s “kowtowing” approach to Beijing is “disturbing” and “dangerously naive,” and urged them to stand up to China.
In a press conference on Thursday, O’Toole raised his concerns about the approach the federal government takes in Canada’s relationship with China.
“Yesterday, we saw an access to information request shared in the media. These documents are typically heavily redacted, but a government error revealed shocking details,” O’Toole said.
“Global Affairs Canada under influence from the Trudeau liberals has been pressuring Canada’s military to join exercises and to cooperate with the communist Chinese military in Canada.”
