Pakistan High Commission Canada, AKDN Canada to assist businessmen to invest in Pakistan

Pakistan High Commission in Ottawa Canada and Agha Khan Development Network in Canada will work together to further promote, motivate and facilitate Canadian and expatriate Pakistanis to invest in Pakistan and coordinate efforts to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic.
This was decided during a virtual meeting between Pakistan High Commissioner in Canada Raza Bashir Tarar and, Diplomatic Representative Aga Khan Development Network Dr Mahmoud Eboo in Canada.
A number of issues, including ongoing projects of Agha Khan Foundation in Pakistan and Agha Khan Development Network s support to Pakistani expatriates and their businesses in Canada, were also discussed.

Pakistan s High Commissioner to Canada Raza Bashir Tarar has said that any conflagration in the Kashmir region disturb the global peace.
The high commissioner said this in an interview with a Canadian Television.
Raza Bashir Tarar said that India’s revocation of the status of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJ&K) and a consistent denial of Kashmiris’ Right to Self-determination are manifestation of an Indian game-plan that dovetails into a larger Hindu supremacist ideology.
He said the changing the special status of IIOJ&K had made it clear that India did not care about anyone even the UN resolutions.

Pakistan becomes third highest recipient of study permit approval in Canada

In Canada, Pakistan has become the third highest recipient of study permit approval among South Asian countries after Pakistan s inclusion in the Student Direct Stream.
According to a press release issued by Pakistan High Commission in Canada, the data, shared by the Canadian side, disclosed that the rate of study permit grant and extension in respect of Pakistani students has also increased from 33 percent to 46 percent in 2019.
It said following some media reports about purported high rate of refusal of visas to Pakistani students desirous of studying in Canada, the High Commission has been raising the matter with the Canadian government.
Pakistani doctor introduces instant coronavirus diagnostic test via smartphone

A Toronto-based Pakistani doctor has introduced an instant COVID-19 diagnostic test using a smartphone.
Dr Naqeeb Khalid, who graduated from King Edward Medical University in 1983 before acquiring experience in the invention of medical devices and systems, told High Commissioner for Pakistan to Canada Raza Bashir Tarar that his innovation is based on a digital platform that displays the result instantly on any smartphone and can also communicate or store the results along with time and GPS information.
He said that instant, accurate and low-cost testing that does not rely on laboratories is essential in containing the pandemic.
