Glanmore National Historic Site re-opens with new exhibit to celebrate Heritage Week

This is a City-wide policy at the moment. Residents in Belleville and Kingston areas are currently in the green or least restrictive zone.  You have to pre-book your trip so the museum can continue to follow public health guidelines and keep everyone safe. Glanmore National Historic Site located in Belleville’s east end is open Tuesday to Friday from 1 pm to 4:30 pm. The exhibit was developed by the Canadian Museum of History and the Inuit Heritage Trust. It looks at what stories were passed down through generations about the Franklin Expedition.

Museums in Ottawa set to reopen this week

  OTTAWA Museums across Ottawa are reopening this week now that the stay-at-home order has been lifted. Ottawa moved back into the Orange-Restrict category of Ontario s COVID-19 framework at 12:01 a.m. Tuesday. Local museums say they will be ready in the next couple of days to welcome back guests. The Canadian War Museum says it will be reopening to the public Wednesday morning. All of our exhibitions are now open, with physical distancing and safety measures in place. Please be sure to follow directional signage and other temporary restrictions. And don’t forget that you must book your timed admission ticket online (available as of February 15) before you visit, the museum said in a statement on Monday.

Glanmore National Historic Site re-opening in time for Heritage Week

Article content The fate of Sir John Franklin’s 1845 expedition was one of the Arctic’s most enduring mysteries, until the wrecks of HMS Erebus and HMS Terror were found in 2014 and 2016.
