Yesterday was the deadliest day for covid-19 deaths in British Columbia as Dr Bonnie Henry reported there were 28 people who had passed away. There were another 723 diagnosed cases in the province, bringing the total since the pandemic began to just over 40-thousand. In the Interior Health Region there were 82 new cases as 19 people are now in hospital.
Kelowna City Council began its 2021 budget deliberations yesterday. It has given initial approval to a tax increase of 4.04%. That would be about $85 for the average size detached home. The city says priorities include maintaining essential services and improving transportation & mobility. A final decision will be made in April after more discussion and public input.

TORONTO - Canada s police chiefs are apologizing to LGBTQ communities for their opposition to decriminalizing homosexuality in the late 1960s.
The Canadian Association of Chiefs of Police made the formal apology in a statement issued online Thursday.
