Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen on Saturday said many agreements and MoUs will be signed with a number of countries during the visits of their heads of state and government, including that of India.
Many foreign leaders are expected to arrive in Dhaka marking the celebrations of 50 years of independence and birth centenary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
The Foreign Minister made the remarks while replying to a question from reporters at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
“Teesta deal was signed 10 years ago but not implemented. The most important thing is that the Indian Prime Minister, leader of the world’s biggest democracy and our biggest neighbor, will visit Bangladesh, it’s a matter of pleasure. Four other Southeast Asian leaders will also be here… It’ll be a big festival,” he said.

DHAKA, March 12, 2021 (BSS) â A 10-day special programme will begin at National Parade Ground from Wednesday marking the birth centenary celebration of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and Golden Jubilee of the Independence.
Chief Coordinator of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Birth Centenary Celebration National Implementation Committee Dr Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury today revealed the information at a press conference at the International Mother Language Institute (IMLI) in the city, said a press release.
Among others, Chairman of the Implementation Committee National Professor Rafiqul Islam, Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni, former Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Noor, State Minister for Foreign Affairs Md Shahriar Alam, Deputy Minister of Water Resources AKM Enamul Haque Shamim and Information Secretary Khaja Miah were present on the occasion.
