I don’t understand why the next group to receive the vaccine is age 75 with no mention of health issues. Seems to me that people over 65 with heart disease and diabetes is more concerning. Whoever set up this process has forgot about the people with these critical health conditions. I have asked my PC Dr., the local pharmacy and my cardiologist who all are saying they don’t know what’s going on. So how good is this plan for distribution

Employers can expect an active 2021 Connecticut General Assembly since the 2020 legislative session was cut short. (The session lasted a little over a month before it was suspended on March 12, 2020, due to the pandemic and then officially adjourned on May 6, 2020.)
This year’s session commenced on January 6, 2021, and it will adjourn on June 9, 2021. However, before the legislative session even started, Connecticut employers had to address a new 0.5 percent payroll deduction for employees to support the state’s Paid Family and Medical Leave Act program (although the benefits of the program are not available until 2022) and an increase to the minimum wage ($13.00 per hour on August 1, 2021). With the legislative session now underway, here are a few employment-related legislative efforts that employers will want to keep an eye on.
NORWICH For businesses in the Rose City, an opportunity to get some help is coming soon.
Beginning the first week of February, businesses in Norwich will be able to apply for part of the Community Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Office Small Business Assistance funds. The City of Norwich’s Development Office will be distributing the money to businesses in the city as a part of the second round of CDBG-CV funding.
There is a total of $219,569 available in funding for COVID-19 relief, and a business approved for the grant could receive up to $10,000. The money is expected to have a 30-day turnaround.
A federal wage assistance program has resulted in more than 22,000 unemployed people in the state receiving an additional $35 million in federal payments over the past few weeks.
