Connecticut Community Foundation is accepting applications for the Pathways for Older Adults Grant Program to help older adults thrive.
As a field of interest fund, the East Hill Woods Fund provides grants to nonprofits and municipalities that offer services and opportunities for older adults living in the Foundation’s service area. A portion of the fund is also designated to train and educate future managers of senior living communities.
Purpose of Grants
To help people in their region age successfully and remain healthy, informed and engaged, be that with the help of in home care services similar to Seniors Helping Seniors of Columbus or other means. Grant funding is also provided to local communities to help them prepare for the aging of the population.

Building Equitable Opportunity Grant Program – United States

The Connecticut Community Foundation is seeking applications for the Building Equitable Opportunity Grant Program to explore solutions across generations and systems.
Their focus on equitable opportunity emerged from research on the deep educational and economic disparity that exists in their region. They found disparity based on race, and also income, age, geography, and gender/sexuality.
Income: The median household income of Waterbury residents was $40,879 in 2017, compared to over $93,000 for the towns in the Litchfield Hills.
Age:Children and youth are most likely to be low-income in Waterbury with 64% of the population being under the age of 17.

The UConn School of Pharmacy is assisting the state s COVID-19 vaccine strategy in a variety of ways.

In preparation for the first shipments of COVID-19 vaccine to the state, Connecticut’s health systems and hospitals are calling on immunization-certified pharmacists to administer vaccinations, as nurses and physicians grapple with the wave of hospitalized COVID-19 patients, staff shortages, and treatment demands. As of Sunday, there were 1,214 COVID-19 patients hospitalized in Connecticut.
