The total number of local households directly impacted by the coronavirus this year stands at 380, and the town s rate of infection is 3.4 percent. Over the two-week period, Darien s rolling average of coronavirus cases was 33.5 per 100,000 people, according to state health officials, and as a result, the community remains one of Connecticut s red alert towns.
