COVID infections remained low through the weekend despite the slowing of vaccine uptake across Connecticut.
On Monday, the state reported a positivity rate of 0.45 percent for new tests since Friday, translating to 141 new cases out of 31,521 tests. Hospitalizations increased slightly to 41 patients statewide, all of which were in Hartford, New Haven and Fairfield counties. One new death was recorded through the weekend for a total of 8,276.
The weeks of low infection numbers come as some across the country perceive the pandemic to be over, according to a new poll from Gallup.
