USD 309 Nickerson-South Hutchinson will interview the first of two candidates for the superintendent position today.
Curtis Nightingale will tour the district with the principal of Nickerson High School, Rick Blosser. There will be an open meet and greet at 3:30 p.m. on April 13 at Reno Valley Middle School. Nightingale will interview with the board beginning at 6:30 p.m.
Nightingale and the other candidate, who will be announced on April 14, were selected to be interviewed based on their fit with desired characteristics that were developed with input from focus groups and an online community survey utilized during the search process. The second candidate will have a meet and greet at 3:30 on April 14 at Reno Valley Middle School.

The Kansas City metro area continues to reopen as more and more of the population gets the COVID-19 vaccine.
What you need to know:
The Kansas Department of Health and Environment said Friday the state has 304,236 confirmed cases of COVID-19, and there have been 4,938 deaths since the outbreak started. Overall the state said 33.2% of the population has been vaccinated with at least one dose. Kansas is now only updating COVID-19 data on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services said Sunday there have been 493,530 cases of COVID-19 since the start of the outbreak and 8,515 deaths. Overall the state said 30.9% of the population has received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.Sign up for our Newsletters
