After weeks at a near-plateau, several of Florida s key COVID-19 indicators showed signs of creeping upward once more for some regions this week, as officials attempted to intensify the state s effort to vaccinate residents against the coronavirus pandemic.
New cases per day and positivity rates have started to rise slightly across Florida over the past weeks, though remaining far below the levels from late December and early January, when Florida often added 15,000 or more new positive tests per day.
Florida reported 6,017 new cases Saturday, as the total case count climbed to 2,077,032. Duval County added 133 cases, St. Johns County 49, Clay County 33, Nassau and Putnam counties three each and Baker County two.
