Have you ever heard of the Japanese Knotweed plant? Me neither, so you are not alone. But the Friends of the Upper Delaware River have and they are on the alert to make sure we know about it too.
The Japanese Knotweed is a damaging and pervasive and invasive plant that is currently spreading throughout the watershed.
Friends of the Upper Delaware River in partnership with the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation, National Park Service, New York League of Conservation Voters, Stroud Research Center, and Shippensburg University received a federal Delaware Watershed Conservation Fund grant in 2019 to educate the public and better understand the impacts of the spread of Japanese Knotweed in the Upper Delaware River watershed.
