Tips from a COVID-19 vaccine hunter: She has bagged 200-plus appointments

Jen Clements, a Shippensburg University professor who has helped more than 200 people get a COVID-19 vaccination appointment, offers some tips for those searching for shots. The tips are based on her experience and information from sources including the PA COVID Vaccine Matchmaker Facebook group. (Note: Some of the following information is crowdsourced and subject to change.)

Yet according to recent research, the United States has far less mobility and equality of opportunity today than the European Union or other OECD countries.
First, the amount of economic advantage passed down from one generation to the next is much higher in the US. Approximately 50% of a father’s income position is inherited by his son. In contrast, the amount in Norway or Canada is less than 20%.
What about rising from rags to riches? In the US, 8% of children raised in the bottom 20% of the income distribution are able to climb to the top 20% as adults, while the figure in Denmark is nearly double at 15%.

Carol D. Smith, 56, of Thompsontown, went home to her Lord at 6:58 p.m., on Monday, March 8, 2021, at the Geisinger Lewistown Hospital.
Born on Dec. 9, 1964, in Lewistown, Mifflin Co., she is the daughter of the late William E. and Louise M. (Marshall) Page.
On April 27, 1996, she married her surviving husband, Bryan A. Smith, with whom she was blessed to share almost 25 years of marriage.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Paige A. Smith of Thompsontown.
Carol was a 1983 graduate of Juniata High School, Mifflintown and a 1987 graduate of Shippensburg University where she earned a journalism degree.
