BHOPAL: Two BJP MLAs and former ministers, Tulsiram Silawat and Govind Singh Rajput, took oath as ministers in the Shivraj Singh Chouhan cabinet, on Sunday. Acting governor Anandiben Patel administered the oath to the ministers at Raj Bhawan.
Silawat and Rajput, both considered trusted aides of Rajya Sabha member Jyotiraditya Scindia, had quit Congress and their ministerial berth in March 2020 to follow their mentor Scindia, who triggered a political storm in the Madhya Pradesh politics by joining the safforn party with 22 MLAs.
The two were inducted as ministers in the Shivraj Singh Chouhan government on April 21 last year. However, they had to resign ahead of the bypolls as they failed to get elected to the state assembly within the mandatory six-month period owing to delay in the bypolls due to Covid-19.
