Man arrested in Standish after nine-hour standoff
Police took Kenneth Cordwell of Windham into custody after being called to a home for a report of domestic violence.
Police arrested a man in Standish early Monday morning after an overnight standoff lasting almost nine hours.
Kenneth Cordwell, 47, of Windham was charged with domestic violence assault and creating a police standoff. He also faces numerous criminal charges from prior arrest warrants.

Robbery was the motive, an official said.
Jeremy Miller was arrested early Monday on warrants after Fayetteville police officers found him at Mazarick Park after the park closed. Jermaine Miller surrendered to lawmen later that same day, the Sheriff s Office said.
Bailey Murphy was booked into the Cumberland County Detention Center where he was immediately held without bail. His first appearance before a judge is Friday.
Bail for the Miller brothers was set at $300,000 each after they first appeared in court earlier this week. They remained in jail Thursday.

The fatal shooting was initially reported by the Cumberland County Sheriff s Office via Twitter on Sunday.
Later that day, the Fayetteville Police Department said they were investigating the case.
But on Monday, the Cumberland County Sheriff s Office announced they were taking over the investigation.
Sheriff s Lt. Patrice Bogertey said Wednesday the case falls under the county s jurisdiction.
Bogertey was unable to confirm whether Locklear was killed on Doc Bennett Road or if he was killed elsewhere, then left along the wooded portion of road near the airport.
The investigation is ongoing, she said.
