Former action star Royette Padilla has died. He was 58.
This was confirmed by her sister Rebecca Padilla on her Facebook account: “Please whisper a prayer for our brother Royette Padilla. A silent prayer for his eternal peace, please.”
Reports showed that Royette died of a heart attack on Saturday, Jan. 9.
Royette was part of the Padilla showbiz dynasty, the son of actor Roy Padilla and actress Eva Cariño. His brothers are actors Robin, Rommel, and actress BB Gandanghari, and through them, uncle to young stars Daniel and Kylie.

Royette had a fair share of spotlight in show business, appearing in films like “Di na Natuto (Sorry na, puede ba?)” (1993) “Mistah” (1994) “Buhay Kamao” (2001) and “Alab ng Lahi” (2003).

+ January 09, 2021 STATE-OWNED Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP) has granted a P645-million loan to Hijo Superfoods, Inc. (HSI) for the establishment and expansion of its banana flour and coconut sugar manufacturing facilities, a top official said.
DBP President and Chief Executive Officer Emmanuel G. Herbosa said that the bank s credit support to Project Honeycomb of HSI, a start-up unit of Hijo Resources Group, would boost the production of its export products and provide a continued livelihood to local farmers and suppliers.
“DBP has always been supportive of the initiatives of our local industries that benefit not just the local community but promote the country as well through their world-class products,” Herbosa said.
January 08, 2021 FORTY-NINE of the 61 barangays in Bacolod City have been declared “Covid-free” for the past 14 days, said Dr. Chris Sorongon, deputy for medical data and analysis of the Emergency Operations Center-Task Force (EOC-TF).
These are Barangays 1 to 25, 27 to 38, 40, 41, Alangilan, Alijis, Cabug, Felisa, Granada, Handumanan, Punta Taytay, Singcang-Airport, Sum-ag and Villamonte.
EOC records showed the barangays with active cases of coronavirus disease (Covid-19) include Barangays Taculing, Bata, Mansilingan, Banago, Pahanocoy, Estefania, Vista Alegre, Montevista, 26 and 39.
As of January 7, Bacolod City had a total of 5,620 cases of Covid-19. Of the number, 5,369 patients already recovered, 73 active cases and 178 deaths.
On the same day, Bacolod had only five new cases of Covid-19 with no death.
