Ottawa, June 3 : The Canadian government has announced a C$27 million funding to assist indigenous communities to locate more indigenous children who died at residential schools in the country.
At a press conference here on Wednesday, Canadian Crown-Indigenous Relations Minister Carolyn Bennett said the government earmarked some C$33 million in its 2019 budget to implement the burial-related recommendations of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission, reports Xinhua news agency.

Dr. Piotr Oglaza, Medical Officer of Health and CEO, reported that as of June 1, 53 per cent of HPEC residents received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine.
He told the HPE Board of Health Wednesday in a virtual meeting that the province, recognizing that HPEPH received vaccine much later than other regions, is now allocating a consistent and increasing supply of vaccine to our region. He did note, however, that HPEPH has the capacity to administer more vaccines than our current allocation.

A group of Canadian lawyers, spearheaded by a Calgary counsel, is calling on the International Criminal Court to investigate the Government of Canada and the Vatican for crimes against humanity over their involvement in the mass gravesite discovered in Kamloops.
