Belmonte said that “helping your fellow men” and “doing Christian duties” are far from “overthrowing the government.”
“Ang layo naman ng leap (There’s a great leap of analogy), from helping your fellow man doing Christian duty, following the values taught to us by the Church, whatever religion we belong to, doon sa (to) overthrowing the government. Ang layo nya,” she said in an ANC interview.
“And in fact, nagugulat ako na meron silang ganitong statement kasi (In fact, I’m surprised by their statements because) the ELCAC has been working with the local government and the barangays,” she added.

“The three police officers, sinabi ng station commander sakin ‘hindi ko po ‘yan dineploy maam hindi galing yan sa QCPD’ so hindi samin yon (The three police officers, the station commander told me ‘I didn’t deploy that ma’am it’s not from the QCPD’ so they are not from us),” Mayor Belmonte said in an interview with ANC.

In an interview with ANC on Wednesday, Belmonte said the barangay can provide the needs of the organizers to ensure the security and order in the pantry.
“I would just say please coordinate with your barangay because this is really a community activity,” Mayor Belmonte said.
“The barangay can provide you things that you will need, that you might have difficulty in providing for yourselves,” she added.
Mayor Belmonte also said that the barangay may help in maintaining the security, making sure the observance of minimum health protocols, and even the food safety.
