DOH approves Concepcion s pooled PCR testing; saliva testing in the works – Manila Bulletin

Belmonte inks deal with AstraZeneca for advance purchase of 750,000 COVID vaccines

Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte (QC PIO) Around 375,000 Quezon City residents are expected to benefit from the two-dose vaccine. In December 2020, the QC LGU announced that they were allocating P1-billion for the procurement of COVID-19 vaccines, syringes, personal protective equipment (PPE) sets, and other items needed for its vaccination program.  Belmonte said the city government will prioritize the city’s 10,000 health workers, 300,000 senior citizens, 20,000 adult persons with disabilities, and other priority sectors as recommended by the World Health Organization in their immunization program. The Quezon City mayor thanked the city council for its swift passage of  a resolution authorizing her to enter into a tripartite agreement with the National Task Force Against COVID-19 and the AstraZeneca. 

DSWD turns over 200,000 face masks to QC gov t – Manila Bulletin

  Together with the members of Task Group Face Mask, the DSWD turned over the masks to Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte in a simple ceremony on Tuesday.   DSWD Undersecretary for Inclusive and Sustainable Peace Rene Glen Paje led the delivery of 200,000 surgical face masks and 33,800 reusable face masks.   The provision of face masks under the “Libreng Mask Para sa Masa” program is pursuant to Memorandum Order 49, “Directing All Concerned Government Agencies to coordinate and pool their resources and efforts into the production and distribution of face masks.”   DSWD, as a member of the task group, leads the distribution of the face masks to local government units based on the list of Social Amelioration Program (SAP) beneficiaries.

Belmonte, Sotto, Moreno top performing mayors in NCR – survey

(FILE / MANILA BULLETIN) Belmonte was followed by Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto and Manila City Mayor Franciso “Isko Moreno” Domagoso. The independent and non-commissioned survey was conducted by RP Mission and Development Foundation, Inc. (RPMDinc).  In face-to-face interviews, 3,500 participants were asked to rate their respective mayors regarding their government over-all performance for the year 2020. Belmonte got the highest approval rating among its constituents at 85 percent, followed by Sotto (82 percent), Domagoso (77 percent), Valenzuela Mayor Rex Gatchalian (75 percent), and Marikina Mayor Marcy Teodoro (72 percent). Meanwhile, Navotas Mayor Toby Tiangco scored 69 percent; Taguig Mayor Lino Cayetano, 67 percent; Makati Mayor Abigail Binay, 64 percent; Mandaluyong Mayor Carmelita Abalos, 55 percent; and San Juan Mayor Francis Zamora, 53 percent.
