13 outlaws including five kite sellers arrested Islamabad, February 23, 2021 (PPI-OT): Senior Superintendent of Police (Operations) Dr. Syed Mustafa Tanveer on Tuesday said that Islamabad Police was taking strict action against anti-social elements and those involved in unlawful activities. Following directions from IGP Islamabad Qazi Jamil Ur Rehman and DIG Operations Afzaal Ahmad Kausar, he said Islamabad police is taking every possible step to secure the city and ensure safety and security of its citizens. According to details, under the supervision of SP (Sadder-Zone) police team headed by SHO Karachi Company along with others arrested four kite sellers namely Sajjad, Sajad, Bilal and Sham Zaib and recovered 541 kites and strings recovered from their possession. In another activity, Lohibher police arrested three Dayam Tariq, Abdul Rauf and Qasir Riaz and recovered three wine bottles from their possession.

22 outlaws including eight POs held, narcotics and weapons recovered Islamabad, February 16, 2021 (PPI-OT): Islamabad police arrested 22 outlaws including eight proclaimed offenders and recovered hashish, wine and weapons from their possession. According to a police statement, SP (Rural-Zone) Constituted special police team under the supervision of SHO Khanna along with others. The teams successfully apprehended two drug peddlers namely Shahid Khan and Naseer-Ullah and recovered 1.600 kilogram hashish from their possession. Aabpara police arrested two accused Yaqoob Messih and Zia-Ur-Rehman and recovered three wine bottles and 200 gram hashish from their possession. Lohi Bher police arrested accused Muhammad Adil and recovered three wine bottles from him.

Deaths from oral cancer on the rise in Karachi, warn experts Karachi February 14, 2021 Oral cancer has become the most common cancer among men in Karachi and its surroundings where gutka and other forms of chewable tobacco have wreaked havoc with the lives of people, and thousands of people are annually dying in this region due to mouth or head and neck cancer. Of the 6,000 new cancer patients registered with Karachi Institute of Radiotherapy and Nuclear Medicine (Kiran) every year, around 35 per cent cases are of oral cancer, which are on the rise due to uncontrolled use of gutka, paan, chalia, naswaar and tobacco in several other forms.
