Education Ministry considers postponing SEA Education Minister Dr Nyan Gadsby-Dolly Minister of Education Dr Nyan Gadsby-Dolly said the issue of postponing the Secondary Entrance Examination came up at a stakeholders meeting on Thursday. It will be given consideration, she said in a WhatsApp message to Newsday on Friday. She was responding to the possibility of postponement, considering the recent spike in covid19 cases. She said stakeholders met on Thursday to discuss the SEA and the best options for students. Last year s students were scheduled to sit the exam on April 2, but it was postponed after covid19 breached Trinidad and Tobago s borders in March. The exam was rescheduled to August 20.

Gadsby-Dolly was responding to Newsday via WhatsApp message on Friday. She said. “There is no doubt that this cohort has faced challenges, to which some would have been able to adjust better than others.” She said further to CXC s decisions, the situation in St Vincent and the Grenadines, since the eruption of the La Soufriere volcano last Friday, is a new development and any further adjustments deemed necessary to accommodate students on the island should be considered.

She is an honors student, pursuing a major in Criminal Justice and a minor in Psychology. Her decision to pursue Criminal Justice and Psychology stems from her desire to represent the underserved. In addition, her zeal for understanding the human psyche and behaviour further impelled her desire to pursue these degree programmes. While her academic profile takes ultimate priority, she has a long-standing track record of participating avidly in co-curricular activities and leadership.
