The Caribbean Examination Council (CXC) announced on Wednesday that its regional written exams will be postponed by two weeks and will now begin on June 28.
At a virtual press conference, the council announced its decision to postpone its Caribbean Certificate of Secondary Level Competence (CCSLC), Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination, and Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) 2021 examinations.
The results will be released in the last week of September to the first week in October, as the council had previously said. .

The Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC) has postponed all upcoming examinations by two weeks, after being engaged in “regional consultations”, Registrar Wayne Wesley announced today.
The Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC), Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination (CAPE), and Caribbean Certificate of Secondary Level Competence (CCSLC) examinations which were scheduled to commence on June 15, will now be held on ushed back to Thursday, June 28.
“Council approved the delay of the sitting of the regional examinations by a further two weeks. This will provide candidates with extra time to prepare for the examinations. Results will be released in the last week in September to the first week in October as previously communicated,” Wesley, said at a media briefing today.
A combination of the continued challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic within the region and the volcanic eruption in St. Vincent has resulted in the Caribbean Examination Council (CXC) taking the decision to push back its suite of exams by two weeks.
