Blackfeet Community College has received the largest philanthropic gift in its history

GREAT FALLS â Blackfeet Community College in Browning announced this week that it has received a substantial gift from philanthropist MacKenzie Scott.
Although the amount of the gift has not yet been disclosed, school officials said in a news release that Scottâs historic donation is the largest philanthropic gift that the college has ever received.
The college was included in a round of large donations to 384 organizations across the country, totaling about $4,158,500,000. Five other tribal colleges are among the recipients, including Chief Dull Knife College, the Institute of American Indian Arts, and Salish Kootenai College.

It s incredibly sad that we need this, but also a great relief for many Indigenous Montana families who are missing loved ones. Blackfeet Community College in Browning has teamed up with the Montana Missing Indigenous Persons Task Force to launch a new website where families can list loved ones as missing. You might wonder why they don t just call the police. The answer is not an easy one, but know that sometimes they do make a report with the police, other times families are reluctant to ask law enforcement for help, for a variety of reasons.
