SUBMITTED PHOTO May 2, 2021 Grace United Methodist Church in the heart of Millsboro recently broke ground for the renovation and expansion of one of its properties, the Burton House, as a youth center. The Burton House is located on the church campus. The Rev. Karin Tunnéll, lead pastor of Grace, said, “Plans to expand the building to 1,600 square feet, renovate the restrooms and provide a safe and inviting space for youth in the community are now underway with the unanimous support of the leadership team and congregation. The building will house the church’s growing youth group, outreach mentoring programs to area youth, potential new ministries, expanding the Sunday school space

CROSSLEY Sandra Lou Shick Crossley, 75, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loving family and friends on April 12, 2021, after a long and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. A 20-year resident of Greensboro, N.C., Sandy was born in Williamsport, on March 4, 1946 to the late Lee and Mildred Shick. She worked for Bell of Pennsylvania and then AT&T in Virginia and Georgia. She retired from telecommunications after 35 years, moved to Greensboro to be near family and enjoyed meaningful work as Clinic Manager for Stillpoint Acupuncture, where she found a wonderful and nurturing work family. Throughout her life, no matter where she lived, whom she met or what circumstances she faced, Sandy made the same impact on every person she met, supported and loved. A gentle presence in every room, she was a beautiful human who loved deeply and spread kindness through her welcoming and compassionate way. She radiated warmth and patience, never sought recognition, was a great listener

Free community meal Sunday in Norway | News, Sports, Jobs

Apr 24, 2021 NORWAY Grace United Methodist Church of Norway will offer a free community meal from 5 to 5:30 p.m. Sunday. The menu will be potato soup, grilled ham and cheese sandwich and dessert. While there is no cost for the dinner, a donation basket will be available for those who want to contribute. Meals can be delivered in Norway to those previously on the delivery list. Meals will be available for takeout in the church parking lot. Reservations are required. To order a meal to be picked up, call Chris Spence at 906-282-9752. The church is at 130 Odill Drive behind the Jake Menghini Museum and is known as Crossroads, a facility shared by Grace United Methodist and Bethany Lutheran churches.
