Harris teases immigration agenda: Green cards for DACA and TPS recipients, shorter waits for citizenship
The vice president-elect also said the new administration would try to decrease by five years the time required to obtain citizenship.

The incoming administration will focus on decreasing wait times to obtain citizenship, granting automatic green cards to protected undocumented immigrants and adding immigration judges to decrease backlogs on court hearings, Vice President-elect Kamala Harris said on Tuesday.

NORWAY Grace United Methodist Church of Norway will offer a free community meal for takeout or delivery from 5 to 5:30 p.m. Sunday.
The menu will include baked chicken, oven-roasted potatoes, vegetable and dessert.
There is no cost for the dinner. A donation basket will be available for those wishing to contribute to the meal.
Dinners will be available for takeout in the church parking lot. Reservations will be required for the meal.
Those who want to pick up a meal should call Chris Spence at 906-282-9752 by 4 p.m. Friday.
Delivery will be made to those previously on the delivery list.

Councilwoman Theresa Ellis has more than 30 years in healthcare management and knows the importance of donating blood, especially during these challenging times when the supply to save lives is in critical demand.
She began to work with the American Red Cross during the beginning phase of the pandemic to increase donation sites and days available for giving to meet the shortage. Ellis is leading the celebration of National Blood Donor Month in January with a proclamation for the Manassas City Council meeting on Jan. 11 to recognize volunteers and givers.

CATASAUQUA, Pa. (AP) - The Rev. Timothy Hasenecz doesn’t remember the topic of the last homily he gave at tiny Holy Trinity Orthodox Catholic Church in North Catasuaqua.
He simply poured out whatever his heart had to say, and then, like he did after every liturgy, glanced over at the spot before the altar where his grandparents were married more than a century ago.
On Oct. 4, he and his small congregation of less than two dozen said a tearful goodbye for the final time, closing out the 121st year of the Lehigh Valley’s oldest Orthodox church.
