UK: Govt to Probe Far Left Infiltration of BLM and Climate Change Groups

UK: Govt to Probe Far Left Infiltration of BLM and Climate Change Groups 7 Feb 2021 The British government is appointing an independent adviser on political violence and disruption to probe the infiltration of groups like Black Lives Matter and Extinction Rebellion by far-left extremists. The investigation has been entrusted to the Lord Walney, John Woodcock, a former Labour MP who now sits in the House of Lords as an unaffiliated peer. “We must be vigilant against a similar blind spot in Britain to the prospect of progressive extremism – that is, unacceptable disruption or even violence carried out in the name of progressive causes to which the political establishment and large majority of the population have great sympathy, like climate change and racial injustice,” said the parliamentarian, who will also be examining far-right activity, in comments to the

BLM Backers Want Captain Cook Statues Toppled, Streets Renamed

6 Feb 2021 Black Lives Matter activists are targeting statues and other memorials to Captain James Cook, the great British explorer who charted much of Newfoundland, Australia, New Zealand, and Hawaii, for removal. The Yorkshireman is one of many great Britons who had made his way on to the sprawling ‘Topple the Racists’ hit-list compiled by the already-out-of-date Stop Trump Coalition. Its targets have previously included the likes of Sir Francis Drake, the English mariner who defeated the Spanish Armada, and Earl Grey, the former prime minister who oversaw the abolition of slavery but is today most famous for the aromatic tea named in his honour.

Statues to be Given New Legal Protections Against Baying Mobs

18 Jan 2021 Historical monuments and statues in Britain will be granted new legal protections from “baying mobs” and the “revisionist purges” carried out by left-wing Labour Party-controlled  councils, Communities Secretary Robert Jenrick announced on Sunday. Mr Jenrick said that the change in law will mandate that all memorials, monuments, historical statues, plaques, and street names will have to go through an official planning process, rather than being left to the mercy of local Labour-run councils. The law will also recommend that rather than removing the statues, they should instead be contextualised. Though the final say on removals will be in the hands of Mr Jenrick, local citizens will also be empowered through the planning process to object to taking down any statues.

WATCH: BLM Radical Sasha Johnson Arrested by London’s COVID Cops 17 Jan 2021 BLM leader Sasha Johnson, a self-described ‘Black Panther’, has been arrested by London’s Metropolitan Police Service (the Met) for allegedly breaching Britain’s draconian coronavirus restrictions on public gatherings. In footage released on social media by the conservative student organisation Turning Point UK, the Black Lives Matter leader was seen being arrested by police outside Number 10 Downing Street, the official residence of the Prime Minister. The video shows the BLM radical being told that she has been “warned to leave the area” by police officers, who informed her that she was being arrested for gathering in public with more than two people.
