Nobel Peace Prize 2021 Nominees List Stacey Abrams, Jared Kushner Among Those Nominated

Only 107 individuals and 24 organization can claim to have won the Nobel Peace Prize. Plenty more are in the running for the 2021 award, but only one will be named winner.
The Norwegian Nobel Committee (NNC), a five member panel that decides who wins, does not comment on nominations. However some choose to reveal their picks.
Nominations for 2021 s award have been trickling out ahead of last Sunday s deadline, while more names were revealed in a survey of Norwegian lawmakers by Reuters.
The bar for nominations is relatively low. They re accepted from lawmakers, ex-winners, heads of state and university chancellors, among others. That has allowed dictators Adolf Hitler and Josef Stalin to be among past nominees.
The Black Lives Matter movement has prompted more support among consumers seeking out diverse businesses.
Searches for Black-owned businesses were up 2,400% in 2020, compared to 2019, according to the latest data from Yelp.
The restaurant review website compiled a list of popular Black-owned businesses from across the country and found that review mentions among them (in total) have grown a staggering 232% in 2020 alone compared with a year earlier. With Black History Month officially underway, the review website is paying homage to Black American business owners by highlighting the popular U.S. businesses, which span beauty, home, food and restaurant categories. To compile the list, Yelp selected enterprises that self-identified as Black-owned, showed increases in average ratings and review counts in 2020 (compared to 2019), and opened after Jan. 2019.

A Norwegian politician said he s been bombarded with threats and hateful messages since he nominated the Black Lives Matter movement for the Nobel Peace Prize.
Petter Eide, a member of the Norwegian Parliament, told ABC News on Sunday that he was prepared for the criticism and has no plans to rescind the nomination.
