After many years researching democratic slippage in Eastern Europe and Latin America, the duo admitted to experiencing double-take as they turned to their own country: “We feel dread…even as we try to reassure ourselves that things can’t really be that bad here.” An invasion of the Capitol Building on January 6th by thousands of Mr Trump’s supporters brandishing baseball bats and Confederate battle flags suggested they really are.

Joe Biden has been confirmed as the Presidential-Elect by the Electoral College of the United States even as Donald Trump is yet to concede the election. This American election, taking place as it did during a pandemic, large protests and a historic political and economic crisis has been very misunderstood. Many are celebrating the election of Joe Biden as a historic victory against “fascism”. This is not only highly misleading but completely false. Commentators have put excessive attention on Trump’s personality painting him as a liar, fool and racist and this has completely precluded any objective analysis. Two questions must be answered before any objective analysis can be done
HANFORD â What better way to ring in the new year but to take one final look at 2020? The never-ending year saw nearly 28,800 frames snapped and more than 2,500 used in my stories.
Let me start off by saying that asking to choose 10 photos of a year unlike any other Iâve ever lived through is an impossible task without a satisfactory answer. A plethora of photos could have made this list for a variety of reasons.
But as a reporter, itâs my job to nail down a final list. So relive 2020 one more time through some of the most impactful images of the year.
