Nicki Minaj’s reputation sometimes precedes her. The multi-platinum rapper has been accused of abhorrent behavior in the past, including sicking her loyal legion of Barbz on anyone who dares cross her and allegedly bashing a writer on Twitter so relentlessly, the woman started receiving death threats.
During a recent Clubhouse session, newly-minted Grammy Award-winning comedian and actress Tiffany Haddish made it clear she’s well aware of Black Barbie’s perceived unfavorable tendencies.
When someone in the chat suggested Haddish was the “Nicki Minaj of comedy” because she’s “killing the fucking game,” another voice replied, “But unlike Nicki, she shows up on time.” That’s when Haddish jumped in and added, “And unlike Nicki, I treat everybody with respect and dignity.”

In the early 1980s, Melvin Whitfield was working for a health nonprofit in West Africa when he came to a realization: Few of the children he encountered had dolls, and the dolls he did see were modeled after white European faces and bodies.
Whitfield, who is Black, returned to Washington in 1983, around the time his girlfriend, Loretta Thomas, was coming to her own doll-inspired despair after trying to find a toy for her niece.
