WASHINGTON, D.C. The Internal Revenue Service and the Treasury Department began Tuesday delivering a second round of Economic Impact Payments as part of the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act of 2021 to millions of Americans who received the first round of payments earlier this year, according to a news release.
The initial direct deposit payments may begin arriving as early as tonight, Dec. 29, for some and will continue into next week. Paper checks will begin to be mailed Wednesday, Dec. 30.
The IRS emphasizes there is no action required by eligible individuals to receive this second payment, the release noted.

WASHINGTON – The Internal Revenue Service and the Treasury Department have started distributing $600 COVID-19 relief checks to millions of Americans.
Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said some of the $600 payments were sent to bank accounts as early as Tuesday night. The direct deposits will continue into next week, according to the IRS.
Paper checks will begin to go out starting Wednesday, Mnuchin said.
