The City watchdog is set to update MPs today on its investigation into the downfall of Woodford Investment Management.
The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) promised the Treasury Select Committee it would report on its progress by the end of this month.
It kicked off the probe in summer 2019, shortly after Neil Woodford’s flagship fund was shuttered, spelling the demise of his investment empire.

Rishi Sunak has said that he barely knows David Cameron, in a bid to distance himself from the former Prime Minister during a grilling by MPs over collapsed finance firm Greensill Capital.
The Chancellor insisted that Greensill got no special treatment when it sought inclusion in emergency Covid lending schemes - despite frantic lobbying by Mr Cameron on the company s behalf. Greensill went bust earlier this year.
It sparked an inquiry into Mr Cameron s efforts to drum up public sector support for the business when he was employed by it as an adviser, by leaning on Mr Sunak and a host of other senior figures.
