SEA seeks more measures on speculative activity in soyabean

Due to price rigging, soya arrivals are drying up in market yards affecting soya crushers The Solvent Extractors’ Association (SEA) of India has stressed the need to impose more measures to check the excessive speculative activity in the soyabean futures.
In a letter to the members of SEA of India, Atul Chaturvedi, President of the association, said that SEA was flooded with complaints from its members that the soyabean contract on the commodity exchange was witnessing an unnatural price run due to technical reasons and alleged price rigging by speculators.

Average productivity of model farms was 2,728.59 kg/hectare in 2020-21, according to MART study
The Solvent Extractors’ Association (SEA) of India has come out with the finding that a model farms project, ‘SEA-Solidaridad Mustard Model Farms’, launched by it has resulted in average productivity increasing by about 50 per cent than that of the ‘control group’.
Releasing the outcome of third-party evaluation report of its project, it said 200 model farms were set up during the current rabi season to demonstrate effective farming techniques to around 1,000 farmers in Bundi, Kota, Baran and Tonk districts of Rajasthan under the project.
The Noida-based MART Global Management Solutions had come out with the third-party evaluation report, ‘Solidaridad-SEA Model Mustard Farms 2020-21’.

The Solvent Extractors’ Association of India has compiled the export data for export of oilmeals for the month of March 2021 and provisionally reported at 321,435 tons compared to 177,003 tons in March, 2020; up by 82%. The overall export of oilmeals during April 2020 to March 2021 increased sharply and provisionally reported at 3,680,084 tons compared to 2,433,617 tons during the same period of previous year i.e. up by 51%, a release issued by Solvent Extractors Association (SEA) said.
