Today’s batch of burning questions, my smart-aleck answers and the real deal: Question: I saw a commercial on television where Southwest Community College was offering free tuition for the upcoming year. Although it is defined as a community college, is Southwest really a private institution much like the private four-year colleges in our area? Is A-B Tech also offering free tuition for the upcoming year? Where is the money coming from to cover these costs? My answer: With all this free tuition going on, kids are never going to know the joy of mowing lawns incessantly from age 12 on up to college age, mostly on sweltering summer days, in a vain attempt to pay for college. This message brought to you by an old guy who wore out about 10 pairs of Converse Chuck Taylor high tops mowing lawns as a kid.
