VENICE, Fla. (WWSB) - The husband of the Venice woman brutally beaten to death inside a hotel room is asking the public for help with funeral expenses.
Gerald Strader is asking for help paying for the funeral of his wife Tina who was killed Tuesday at the Rodeway Inn where she worked.
Gerald had been married to Tina for six years. She had worked at the hotel since December 2019. He had been trying to text his wife throughout the evening and became concerned when she did not answer any of his text messages.

Husband finds wife brutally beaten in Venice motel room; guest with violent past charged with murder

VENICE, Fla. - A Venice man with a lengthy criminal record – an animal, according to the sheriff – has been arrested for ambushing a motel housekeeper and beating her so badly that she later died.
According to the sheriff’s office, it was just after 10:30 a.m. Tuesday when deputies were called to the Rodeway Inn on South Tamiami Trail. A housekeeper there had been found beaten in one of the rooms; she was rushed to the hospital where she later passed away.
