Karnataka imposes night curfew from April 21, movie halls, malls and gyms to remain closed

Highlights The Karnataka government on Tuesday imposed a night curfew in the state from 9 pm on April 21 till 6 am on May 4. The decision comes after an all-party meeting convened by Governor attended by CM BS Yediyurappa. Bengaluru: The Karnataka government on Tuesday imposed a night curfew in the state from April 21 till May 4, the curfew will come into force from 9 pm till 6 am and all essential services will be exempted during this time, as per the order from the state government.  Apart from the night curfew a a weekend curfew too will be imposed on Friday 9 pm till Monday 6 am, the decision was taken after hours of deliberation at an all-party meeting convened by Karnataka Governor Vajubhai Vala which was attended by Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa.

Image Source: IANS News Bengaluru, April 19 : Karnataka Governor Vajubhai Vala would preside over an all-party virtual meeting on the Covid pandemic s second wave sweeping the southern state on Tuesday, an official said on Monday. Vala will hold the all-party meeting on virtual mode to review the situation arising out of rising Covid cases across the state and measures being taken to contain the virus spread, said an official of Raj Bhavan here. State Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa will also participate in the virtual meeting from a private hospital where he is under treatment for Covid symptoms since April 16.
