Siddaramaiah Demands Yediyurappa s Immediate Resignation as Karnataka CM Over Corruption Case FOLLOW US ON: The Leader of Opposition in the Karnataka Assembly Siddaramaiah on Thursday demanded that Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa resign immediately after a High Court order dismissing his petition seeking rejection of an old corruption case against him. Urging the BJP leadership including Prime minister Narendra Modi to intervene and ask Yediyurappa to step down, the senior Congress leader said the saffron party high command that has been planning to replace the Chief Minister has now got a strong weapon against him. I demand the resignation of Mr Yediyurappa, because his petition for quashing the FIR against him was dismissed by the High Court of Karnataka.Therefore he has no right to continue as Chief Minister for a second, Siddaramaiah said. Speaking to reporters here, he said BJP leadership has to immediately intervene and ask Yediyurappa to resign.

Under the scheme, the girl child gets Rs 1 lakh after completing 18 years. Two months ago, the state government had assigned the postal department, instead of the LIC, to implement its flagship programme Bhagyalakshmi scheme as the interest rate of the LIC was low. The decision to switch the agency was taken in the cabinet meeting on October 22.

Karnakata iPhone plant violence: Wistron Reports losses worth Rs 440 cr, claims thousands of iPhones stolen News Network December 14, 2020 Bengaluru, Dec 14: Taiwanese Wistron Corporation has reported an estimated loss amounting Rs 440 crore in violence which had erupted on December 12 at the company’s plant in Karnataka’s Kolar district, where it assembles iPhones. In its complaint to the police, Wistron Corporation said thousands of iPhones were stolen during the violence which had broken out after a large number of workers went on a rampage over issues related to payment of salary. Wistron also said that the company’s assembly line and other equipment were damaged by the workers. Videos that surfaced online showed a violent group overturning vehicles, setting them on fire, breaking glass windows in the office leaving a trail of destruction.
