Mangaluru, Feb 24 : Mangaluru on the west coast would be the next IT and IT services industry cluster in Karnataka after Bengaluru, said state Deputy Chief Minister C.N. Ashwath Narayan on Wednesday. We have identified the port city of Mangaluru as the next IT and IT e-service industry cluster as per Beyond Bengaluru policy in the state, said Narayan at the Mangaluru Innovation Conclave here.
Mangaluru is located about 360km west of state capital Bengaluru.

Good News: Karnataka being one of the most sought after destinations for building careers and entrepreneurship, will be creating 10 lakh IT jobs and opportunities in related sectors in the state by 2025 under the Karnataka Digital Economy Mission (KDEM) initiative.

The KDEM, a PPP model initiative, will be driving the creation of ten lakh IT jobs in Karnataka by attracting large investments in IT and related sectors, and boost the economy in the state.

Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], February 10 (ANI): The office of the Karnataka Digital Economy Mission (KDEM) which has the objective of increasing digital economy contribution to Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) to 30 per cent was inaugurated and the Beyond Bengaluru report which facilitates to achieve this target was launched on Tuesday.
Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Chief Minister Dr CN Ashwatha Narayana said, The government wanted KDEM to be more industry-friendly and keeping this in mind it has allowed for 51 per cent stakes to industry associations while retaining a minority holding of 49 per cent for itself. The Karnataka Digital Economy Mission (KDEM) will create ten lakh jobs by 2025 in the state as it will attract more investments in the information technology sector, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister Dr C N Ashwath Narayan said on Tuesday. The KDEM will create ten lakh jobs by 2025 and will help Karnataka to reach the goal of USD 150 Billion in IT exports and also to become a USD 300 Billion Economy by 2025, Narayan, who holds the electronic and the IT-BT portfolio, said. He was speaking at the inauguration of the office of Karnataka Digital Economy Mission which has the objective of increasing digital economy contribution to GSDP to 30 per cent and launch of the Beyond Bengaluru report which facilitates achieving this target.
