City-based construction firm Star Infratech has bagged the contract to develop and rejuvenate the Koramangala (K-100) valley between KR Market and Bellandur lake into a ‘Citizens Water Way Project’ for Rs 179.50 crore. The contract also includes the construction of a European-styled pathway, arch bridges and sewage treatment plant (5 MLD). The project is targeted to be ready in the next two years.

The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has started the process of acquiring about 143
properties required for widening of the 3.5-km
Uttarahalli Main Road that carves out from Mysuru Road towards Aditya Bakery. The busy stretch, named after cine star Late Dr Vishnuvardhana, has become a point of traffic congestion after residential layouts started booming in and around Turahalli forest.
The proposed four-lane road is, however, likely to eat into a portion of Mylasandra Lake. It appears that the BBMP has decided to add two new lanes on one side of the road in order to help Mahaveer Lakes Apartment, which is located right opposite the water body.
