Bus services were hampered for the sixth consecutive day in Karnataka, as the strike by the employees of the road transport corporations on wage related issues continued on Monday. With a stalemate between the government and employees of the four transport corporations in the state, over their demand for wages as per the 6th Pay Commission continuing, majority of the workers did not turn up for work, resulting in buses remaining off road, affecting commuters. Amid threats of tough action, no work no pay , few RTC employees have returned to work and are operating buses on some routes in the city and different parts of the state.
Even as the indefinite strike by the employees of the Karnataka transport corporation over wage hike entered fifth day, 2,663 buses were operated across the state, as some drivers and conductors returned to work, an official said on .

Pakistan: Striking Balochistan government workers block major highways
Ignoring calls from authorities to return to work, thousands of government workers in Balochistan, Pakistan’s largest province, are continuing their struggle for a 25 percent across the board pay increase and the same allowances paid in other provinces. On Monday the strikers, including health and education workers, enforced a virtual cut-off of Balochistan from the rest of the country with a blockade of the main highways.
A sit-down protest was held outside the provincial assembly in the capital Quetta with other demonstrations held across the province. Education workers have said they will boycott high-school exams scheduled to begin on April 10. A polio vaccination campaign due this week was also postponed as workers conducting mobile vaccination campaigns joined the strike.

Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], April 10 (ANI): Commuters are faced with fluctuating travel fares in private buses of Karnataka on Thursday as the indefinite strike of Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) employees entered fourth day. The strike is mainly over demand for revision of salaries.
Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) employees are also in support of the strike. Private players are operating buses both in Bengaluru city and also to outstations.
A commuter told ANI, I came from Shivamogga and reached Bangalore today morning, I faced problems with the bus rates in the private buses. It has fluctuating rates, some have Rs 700, some of the buses have Rs 500, finally, I ended up travelling in the bus with Rs 500 ticket fare.
