Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], December 14 (ANI): KarnatakaChief Minister BS Yediyurappa has appealed to the agitating staff of the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation s (KSRTC) to call off their ongoing strike, saying that a sincere effort had been made to resolve their problems in a meeting held on Sunday.
As per a statement from the Chief Minister s Office (CMO), demands of the protestors to rectify salary differences, compensate employees who died of COVID-19, and action against harassment from senior officials were promised to be fulfilled.

Bengaluru, Dec 13 : Karnataka s road transport employees on Sunday called off their 4-day strike after the state government responded to some of their demands, enabling resumption of bus services across the southern state. As we accepted some of their demands at a meeting with their union leaders, the road transport employees have agreed to withdraw the strike and resume bus services from tonight, state Deputy Chief Minister Laxman Savadi told reporters here. Though the state government agreed to offer health insurance under the Arogya Sanjeevini scheme, wage revision and inter-corporation transfers, the demand for government-employee status has been rejected, asserted Savadi, who holds the transport portfolio.

Bengaluru, Dec 13: Traveling public in Karnataka continued to face hardship as members of the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) employees Federation refused to resume to work demanding considering their services on par with the State government employees.
However, the KSRTC authorities claimed that more than 100 buses are on the road and private buses may be run to solve the issue temporarily.
According to latest reports, the Minister held talks with agitating members and met the Chief Minister for discussion.
The ball is in the court of Chief Minister to resolve the issue.
