The Ohio Department of Health reported no new COVID-19 related hospitalizations or deaths in Guernsey or Noble counties when it released coronavirus statistics Tuesday.
Hospitalizations in Guernsey County remained at 220 and the death toll stood at 35, according to data provided to state officials by the Cambridge-Guernsey County Health Department.
In Noble County, hospitalizations were unchanged at 86 with 41 deaths reported by Noble County officials since the start of the pandemic in 2020. Fortunately, the number of positive cases and hospitalizations have been greatly reduced, and the vaccinations are helping, said Noble County Health Commissioner Shawn Ray. The people who are receiving vaccinations are extremely grateful, but we still have to keep our guard up. We need to continue wearing masks and maintaining social distancing to prevent a new spike in COVID cases.

Staff in the Caldwell Exempted Village and Noble Local school districts will be at the head of the line locally.
The Noble County Health Department will administer COVID-19 vaccinations Friday to all employees who wish to receive the vaccine the first districts locally to be eligible as part of Ohio K-12 School Staff Vaccination Program. It s very quick, said Caldwell Superintendent Kacey Cottrill of the vaccination date. I know some districts have to wait until the third week or the end of February, but the Noble County Health Department has worked very hard to secure vaccinations for the districts in the county.

Frustrations regarding the failure of individuals to comply with Gov. Mike DeWine s mask mandate for Ohioans are growing, and not just for Guernsey County residents.
Officials with the Cambridge-Guernsey County Health Department the agency tasked with enforcing the mandate are also frustrated by the volume of violations reported in the county. We receive a multitude of calls every day regarding places that are not following the mask mandate, said Guernsey County Health Commissioner Dr. Edward Colby. There are so many, that s impossible for us to check them all in person.
