The woman charged with attacking a man moments before his house caught fire accepted a plea deal and pleaded no contest to a felony count of assault with a deadly weapon.
Crystal Lynn Hardy entered the plea Tuesday in Kern County Superior Court.
She was arrested late on May 2, several hours afters after the victim, a 36-year-old man, went to a neighbors house to seek aid after the attack.
While there, his residence on the 200 block of Calvin began burning.
The structure was gutted and police believe the incidents are related.
No one has been charged in connection with the fire.

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - Lawyers for a woman who says she is the sister of the late Charles Manson told a Los Angeles judge today that their client will join two others in bidding to administer the estate of the infamous cult leader, a field which already includes a man who claims to be Manson s grandson.
Attorneys Christopher B. Johnson and Colin T. Greene informed Los Angeles Superior Court Judge William Barry that their client, Nancy Claassen of Spokane, Washington, also will challenge the purported Manson will put forth by the other estate administrator contestant, longtime Manson pen pal Michael Channels. The lawyers said Claassen s court papers will be filed soon.
Navy serviceman charged with rape of Ridgecrest teen

A 20-year-old Navy serviceman was charged in late March with raping a minor, according to the Kern County Superior Court website. The alleged victim is a 15-year-old girl from Ridgecrest.
The Kern County court website shows that charges were filed against Matthew Paul Foxhall on March 30 for unlawful sexual intercourse, sexual penetration with a foreign object/etc. with a victim under 18 years and oral copulation with a victim under 18 years. All three charges are felonies.
The charges stem from Foxhall s arrest on March 27 by the Ridgecrest Police Department. Foxhall was later released on $125,000 bail.

Woman suspected of killing her children stole truck carrying multiple firearms by using push-start function

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KERO) â Lilliana Carrillo, the woman suspected of killing her three children in Los Angeles, was able to steal a truck that carrying multiple firearms by utilizing the truck s push-start function, court documents say.
Police reports from the incident on April 10 describe Carrillo s alleged attempt at fleeing Los Angeles, where she is the sole suspect in the deaths of her three children. According to reports, around 11 a.m. a bystander driving northbound on Highway 65 pulled over on the west side of the highway after seeing Carrillo on the side of the road bleeding from one of her hands.
