Missing person identified by coroner as victim of a shooting, BPD investigating

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KERO) â The Kern County Coroner s Office identified Edward Rodrigo Medina, 27, as the victim of a shooting after his body was discovered Monday.
The coroner identified Medina after he was found shot to death in the 6000 block of Di Giorgio Road. It is unknown at this time exactly when the shooting occurred.
On Friday, Medina was reported as missing to the Bakersfield Police Department. According to the initial release, he was last seen in the 10100 block of Wible Road on April, 7, around 7:30 p.m. On April 9, his vehicle was located abandoned in the area of East Planz Road and South Mount Vernon Avenue.

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KERO) â The Kern County Coroner s Office identified 53-year-old Ute Salem as the woman who died Saturday after crashing into a piece of heavy equipment parked on Panama Lane.
According to the Bakersfield Police Department, around 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Salem was driving in the 7200 block of Panama Ln. when, for unknown reason, she veered off the roadway, striking a parked piece of heavy earth moving equipment. She was taken to Kern Medical where she later died.

The pilot killed in a plane crash in the Tehachapi mountains Saturday has been identified as Todd Q. Smart, 56, of Hidden Valley, CA. Smart died at the scene according to the Kern County Coroner s Office. His family has been notified.
The plane wreckage was discovered Monday around 8:40 a.m. in the rocky terrain west of Tehachapi Willow Springs Road, south of Oak Creek Road in Tehachapi. The crash is thought to have occurred on Feb. 13 and may have been caused by high winds and low visibility in the area.
The plane departed Saturday from Camarillo for Mammoth Lakes, according to a KCSO press release.
Bakersfield Police Department is investigating a fatal traffic collision on Panama Lane
On Wednesday, February 17th, the Bakersfield Police were called out to a traffic collision involving one car on Panama Lane, just West of South Allen Road, according to officials.

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KERO) â On Wednesday, February 17th, the Bakersfield Police were called out to a traffic collision involving one car on Panama Lane, just West of South Allen Road, according to officials.
According to BPD, the driver of the vehicle, an adult female was pronounced dead at the scene by medical professionals. Police also found an additional passenger, a toddler in the backseat of the car. Medical professionals said they found the child unharmed and was taken to a local hospital for precautionary reasons.
