Looking for a safe and fun sports activity that the entire family can enjoy together, Tammy Peters thinks she found just the thing.
But it requires a little thinking outside the box.
After going through an instructional session Peters, and her daughter, 11-year-old Tammany Peters, are thinking of joining the Roadrunner Curling Club at the Outpost Ice Arenas in the northeast heights. The RCC hosts several different curling leagues.

“One of my friends is in the league,” Tammy Peters said. “She had invited us to check it out and it looked like a lot of fun so we thought we’d try it out.”

Eight of Wetaskiwin’s not-for-profit groups, and one for-profit business will be considering their options after Wetaskiwin’s Committee-of-the-Whole was presented with the City Owned building Lease Policy.
Recreation coordinator Natasha Grant said the idea of developing this policy to provide Administration with direction on how City-owned buildings are leased.

“In the past, lease agreements had been handled on a case-by-case basis with the final agreement coming to Council for approval,” said Grant. “The development of a policy would make the process more efficient and provide Administration with the ability to manage the agreements more effectively.”
