DENVER State and local agencies arrested 175 drivers statewide on suspicion of DUI over Super Bowl weekend, down from 229 arrests over the same weekend a year earlier, the Colorado State Patrol said Tuesday.
The enforcement period from Feb. 5-Feb. 8 saw increased patrols by 95 agencies, including many in the Denver metro area. It s one of 16 enforcement periods throughout the year to target impaired driving.

A Colorado hiker’s dog was found alive on a highway eight days after they were supposed to return home from a hike.
Josh Hall, 27, and his dog, Happy, began their hike in Boulder County at the Hessie Trailhead on February 3. Search and rescue crews began searching for them that night, hours after a severe winter storm was reported to have hit the area, ABC News reported.
There was no sign of the pair until Thursday, when Happy was discovered on a highway seven to nine miles away from the trail, according to his family.
Happy shed about 10-15 pounds, but he showed no signs of frostbite, Hall’s stepfather, Nick Vukson, told KMGH.

A missing hiker’s dog was found alive after the pair went missing for more than a week in Colorado but the search for the pup’s owner was suspended amid dangerous weather conditions, authorities said.
Josh Hall, 27, and his dog Happy went hiking on Hessie Trailhead in Boulder County on Feb. 3, and at some point got caught up in a snowstorm, according to the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office.
Search crews began looking for the pair that night, but efforts were called off on Monday due to dangerous weather conditions in the area, authorities said.
